Ohhhh my. Wow. This is bodily written with a fierce and focused and "confident in your call from the Universe" tone.
This whole paragraph:
So, I asked myself, “What do I need in order to move forward?” and the answer came fast and clear: to rebuild and rediscover my relationship with, and place in, the natural world to which I belong. It’s foundational. Simple. Square One. Essential. Those were the words. The somatic knowing came as the sensation of lying on soft ground, amongst moss and fallen leaves, and simply dissolving back into the earth for a while. Back into Earth for a re-set, having been separated from her emotionally and spiritually for a while. This is what I - and I believe many of us - need. Maybe especially the older women who have been told they’re now “pointless” but know they have stepped into an energy they’re not sure how to use. We need that energy more than ever if we’re to resist the extreme patriarchal fuckery heading our way.
Yes! The way you have listened when life threw you and your family a curveball - the word "pivot" doesn't really seem to capture how you listened to life and are now squarely focused right now where you are.
there is so much here that I relate to. The sense of being pulled down to the Earth and being held by her. Including the bouts of physical illness, you and your husband have come through. It’s as if we’re all being called home to the real through the body and through this extraordinary time in history where it feels as if everything is falling apart around us, even as we build something completely new. Mostly I just wanted to leave a note to say thank you for your beautiful writing.

Thank you so much for sharing this reflection.
I hope your husband is healing well.
He is! Thank you for reading and your kind words x
I’m so glad he is healing. Big events like this refocus us, like you are talking about. There comes a fierceness within us of clarity and focus.
